Addyson's 8th Annual Fundraiser

Sunday, June 14, 2026, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PMLocation: St. Antoninus Church UndercroftHello, my name is Addyson Gruber, I am 16 years old, and a sophomore at Seton High School. On June 14th, from 12:00-3:00 PM in the St. Antoninus Church undercroft, I will be holding my 8th annual fundraiser for something very near and dear to my heart. I will be raising funds for all those, including my brother, who suffer from LGS and Dravet Syndrome, both life-long, catastrophic forms of epilepsy.
As some of you may know my brother, Braxtin, is 13 years old and has been struggling for more than half of his life with both of these forms of epilepsy. At the young age of 2 1/2 he started having seizures and many other critical health issues which lead to a diagnosis of Dravet Syndrome which then lead to another diagnosis of LGS. People who suffer from these forms of epilepsy also suffer from many other co-morbidities like cognitive delays, speech issues, social emotional issues, behavioral issues, sleep issues and feeding issues just to name a few.
I have watched Braxtin experience all of these issues and more and I want to continue doing everything and anything I can to help him and all those who suffer with these forms of epilepsy. I watch him take several meds, at a minimum 3 times a day by mouth or his g-tube. I watch him get blood work monthly or sometimes weekly. The number of surgeries, hospital stays and therapy appointments he has had are more than most people will go through in a lifetime. There are also times Braxtin struggles with the simplest of daily tasks. Amazingly though, he never complains.
It’s sad to think that so many things we take for granted he will never get to experience. Things like playing sports, driving, living alone, or having a "normal life". I want the best for him and I will continue to fight for him, raise funds, and bring awareness to the struggles he has due to his epilepsy.
Will you help me in my efforts and donate to my fundraiser? We will have basket raffles, split-the-pot, kids games and more! If you can’t, please just pray that someday the medical community will understand more about these forms of epilepsy and hopefully find a cure.
